My talk will be focussed on introducing version control system (vcs) to the audience for effective software development based on my experience. The following will be covered in my talk,

  1. Introduction to Version Control Systems
  2. What to expect and what not to expect from Version Control Systems
  3. Centralized/Line based version control systems
  4. Distributed version control systems
  5. Case study with subversion
  6. Case study with Bazaar, Mercurial or Git - TBD

Why me?- I am a "Full Committer" for Subversion (http://subversion.apache.org/) Version Control System and been working actively with VCS development for the past 3 years and have seen many VCS for the past 7 years. I am also a committer of Apache Software Foundation (http://www.apache.org/). Been working for CollabNet Software Pvt Ltd., (http://www.collab.net/) who are the market leaders in Software Development related tools.
